Amsterdam (The Netherlands), March 23 – 26, 2010. At the Intertraffic event EKTA showed for the first time its new generation LED-VMS display product series for Intelligent Traffic Systems. These include variable fixed and mobile message signs, dynamic information boards and lane control signs for city streets, highways, road intersections and interchanges, parking areas and approaches to infrastructure facilities such as bridges, airports, railway and bus stations. LED-VMS traffic signs and boards can display all types of control messages including warnings and information about weather and road conditions, maintenance work and traffic jams, detours, etc., and are the most suitable and efficient visualization equipment for intelligent road systems.

EKTA new generation LED-VMS products are assembled from standard square or rectangular LED modules with sides measuring 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2 m and a pixel pitch of 16, 20 or 25 mm. There are various color solutions available: monochrome (white or amber), dichromatic (red and amber) and full-color modules. A wide choice of module dimensions, resolution and color ensures meeting customer’s needs in solving any traffic control task. Special brand module construction makes EKTA LED-VMS products one of the slimmest (less than 55 mm) and the most lightweight in the industry providing easy installation and maintenance even in places difficult to access, while still ensuring the strength of any structural solution.

EKTA LED-VMS products strictly meet the European Standard EN 12966-1 requirements. They are equipped with the latest system of automatic brightness adjustment for external lighting conditions providing comfortable viewing both in the direct sunlight (with a maximum brightness of 13,000 NIT) and in the dark (without blinding drivers). LED-VMS devices are designed for reliable, no-failure operation in a 24/7 mode with a lifetime of more than 100,000 hours. All of them have rugged IP65 ratings and the ability to operate under the harshest environment conditions, including maximum precipitation, extreme temperatures, vibration, as well being protected from dirty and UV-radiation. Their operating temperature range is from -30С° to +50С° while operating humidity is up to 100%. The ЕКТА controller for LED traffic signs and boards complies with all specifications for intelligent traffic system elements. It supports GSM and GPRS (external device) data transfer channels, as well as Ethernet and RS 232/RS-485 (built-in protocols); image loading, messages and display session logs; and TCP protocols to connect to the control software. The LED-VMS controller is supplied with licensed software specially developed by EKTA for traffic security systems, has all necessary functionality including remote operational monitoring and diagnosis without any extra external devices, and can be localized to meet local requirements.
